Motherboard - Definition
The motherboard is a computer’s main circuit board, often referred to as the brains or heart of the computer. This central processing unit consists of many components to include expansion slots, the bus, memory sockets, plug-in cards, and more. All of the chips that comprise a motherboard are what keep a computer running. Another common name for the motherboard is the Logic Board.
