Host - Definition
A Host is a Windows computer that runs a server program or service used by network or remote clients. It essentially provides services to all other computers on the network. In a network, clients and servers are both hosts because they are both sources of information in contrast to network devices, which are responsible only for directing the traffic. A Host can also provides services on the World Wide Web. Unless you have your own web server, you will need a hosting company who provides a server or computer that is connected to the Internet and makes your web pages available to the rest of the world.
