Gmail is an abbreviation for Google Mail, It is a free e-mail service provided by Google that enables users to send and receive e-mail over the Internet. Users can check their e-mail from any computer that is connected to the internet via any web browser, such as Mozilla Firefox. Gmail is unique from other similar services, such as Yahoo and Hotmail, as it allows its users to store several gigabytes of e-mail messages. Sign up for the service was initially done by referral only, but now anyone can obtain a free Gmail account.
