CD (Compact Disc) - Definition
CD is the acronym for Compact Disc, which is used to store information in a CLV format. With this media, data, video, and audio can be stored. Some CDs are readable only, meaning information can be read or viewed but not manipulated. Another type of CD is writeable, which can be read or viewed and also manipulated. With information being written directly from the computer to the CD using binary codes, this option of storage is far more accurate than other forms and holds much more data than a floppy disk.
